April Marie Stenger, 61, passed away on July 19, 2016.
April was a wife and friend for almost 46 years to her husband, Ralph. She was a crafty person who liked sewing, needlepoint which she incorporated into her doll dresses and even made Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus from scratch. In her later years she got into jewelry making and she loved creating gifts for her friends and family. Whatever she did she gave 110% and always wanted things to be perfect.
She worked with her husband in the family business the first 12 years of their marriage. Then she applied for and was hired to work for the United States Postal Service. Twenty-eight years later she retired but not before building a second family with her co-workers.
April’s love and kindness went beyond her human family; she loved animals and her Westies. Her wild animals would come to her door here in town and the summer cabin in Prescott.
She is survived by her husband Ralph of 44 years, her son Ralphie, his partner in life Lena, their daughters Tiffani and Riley, and granddaughter Isabel. Her mother Gail Jones who lives in Pine along with her brothers Chuck, Will, and Stanley; her sister Melanie, Payson and Debbie who lives in Phoenix.
April’s extended family from her side and Ralph’s would make the list too long to mention here. Then there was her post office family who she considered close enough to be part of her personal family.
April will be missed deeply but she is in a better place where she will no longer be in daily pain and now be at rest.
We are sure that her grandmother Edna Blake and her uncle, Father Bill Blake who preceded her in death were there to take her hand as she left this world and showed her the new life she will have with them and the family and friends that have gone before her.
April you will be missed more than words can say and will leave a void in Ralph’s heart that only you could fill. God Bless you April until we meet again.
