I worked with Dave at City of Phoenix 91st Ave. WWTP; this project was a joint venture and I was an employee of Brown and Caldwell. I will always remember Dave and how well he treated me; I remember when he brought his daughter to work on “Bring you daughter to work day”. Dave was a top engineer, project manager and friend…I think the world is a darker place with out his light. My sympathies are with his family at this sad time. I cannot put into words how sad I feel at this time.

My thoughts and prayers with your family. I regret I did know David well, but I knew him through Ross’s stories and from the son he raised in Ross. He will live on in his children and the people he and they have touched.

My thoughts and prayers are with the DeChant family during this unbelievably sad time. I knew Dave from several different projects at the City of Phoenix 91st Avenue WWTP. His was totally devoted to his work and to his family. Take some comfort in knowing that his was a life well-lived.

Linda, Ross, Reid and Mallory, Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Dave was a good person and will be deeply missed. I always admired how organized he was. I could never figure out how he kept so many balls in the air and knew exactly were each one was. My daughter, Ashley, sends her deepest condolences as well. Christina

I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a kind man and wonderful customer at my store. I remember him asking if I was hiring as he wanted his daughter to work at the bakery. Knowing how kind he was I knew his daughter had to be a perfect fit for the store. Mallory talked about her dad and how close they were. It was so nice to see a high school girl that really appreciated her dad and what he did for her. He will be missed.

I worked with Dave in NYC, where he was the Project Director of the Newtown Creek WWTP Upgrade, and I was his assistant. I’m still in shock and can’t quite accept that Dave has passed. He was a great boss and a wonderful person, using creative management techniques to motivate his troops in supportive and humorous ways. He was serious about getting quality work acccomplished (Git er Done!), but also would throw in a joke or prank to lighten the mood. Dave is already greatly missed by all the engineers and contractors he worked with in NYC for the last two years, and my heartfelt condolences to his family who now have to deal with this great loss. Dave spoke of his family often and fondly, so I can’t even imagine the depth of their loss and sadness. I can only express how wonderful a person Dave was, and how he made our work experience meaningful and at the same time a little fun. Rest in Peace, Dave, and know you had a big impact on the people you knew.

Dearest Linda and Family, I will keep you and my family in my prayers. We are so sorry for your loss. I did not know Dave for a long time, however, he was always such a kind and well respected man. You and your beautiful family have your own angel. Our deepest sympathy and love, Georgena and John Russo, Newtown Creek.

My prayers are with you. I worked with Dave on several projects when I was at the City of Phoenix. I respected him for his hard drive, watching him grow from drafter to engineer to manager. I always knew that if he was involved, the project was going to be a success because he would accept nothing else. I also golfed with him once at the United Way golf tournament and gave him high marks for his athletic ability, his tolerance of mine, and the ability to hold his laughter. I am sorry for your lost, but I am glad that I knew him.
