1928-2018 Dorothy, Dottie, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Dottie, and, of course, our favorite, how her husband Fred always addressed birthday cards to her: “· t”. Dorothy Louise Bates McClure, nearly made it to age 90. She was a good friend to many, a loving mother and grandmother, a kind relative, and a stalwart advocate for human rights. She volunteered at Planned Parenthood for many years. She taught us all much, and took great delight in life, especially with children, having taught 3rd grade for decades, at Roadrunner School among others. We all shall miss her dearly.
We plan to have a celebration of her life from 2:00-4:00pm on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Zinc Bistro, 15034 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale 85254. Please bring memories of her to share. In lieu of flowers, she especially would have welcomed contributions to Planned Parenthood of Arizona, Attn: Development, 4751 N. 15th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Molly McClure and Dick Bradford; her son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Patricia McClure; her sister, Sandra Bates Duffy; her sister-in-law, Kay Bates; beloved granddaughters, Meg McClure and Eleanor Bradford; and many loving nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.
