PHOENIX- Ed Dixon passed away peacefully on April 19, 2018 surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Ed was born in Warren, Ohio on June 9, 1940, to Genevieve M. and James F. Dixon. Ed attended West High School and Phoenix CC. He retired in 2006 after a 46-year career with GE/Honeywell.
Ed was a fan of all local Phoenix sports teams but was an especially faithful and longtime season ticket holder to Arizona State Sun Devil football where he and his late wife Judy taught us all the art of tailgating. Ed loved his routine of playing scratchers, taking care of his beloved dog Princess P, and most of all keeping tabs on his grandchildren. Ed had a kind heart and was a great father. He had a great sense of humor, was humble, and will truly be missed. While this is a sad time for all of us, the fact that Ed’s wish was finally granted and he has left his rented body and joined his beloved wife Judy in heaven turns our sorrow to joy.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Briggs, and wife Judy Dixon. Ed is survived by his sons Jim, Bob (Daneen) and grandchildren Alexandra, Jordan, Alec, Grant, and Nick.
Visitation will be held on April 28 from 2pm-3:30pm at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale.Print Obituary & Condolences
