George S. Hossack

Hossack, George S. passed away on Feb. 5, 2011 at the age of 96. Born June 27, 1914 to John Q and Grace Juline Hossack in Sioux City, Iowa. George was preceded in death, 46 days prior, by his wife of 75 years Mary Kathryn (Kay) Hossack Dec. 20, 2010 age 94 , and years earlier by grandchildren Diane Hossack and David Knight. He is survived by his brother James Q. Hossack , son Gary Hossack (Kindra), daughter Juleen Kenyon (Tom) grandchildren Deborah Hendrix (Chris), Terri Kenyon (Mahesh Krishnan), Steve Hossack (Rachel Green), Lance Kenyon (Regina), Robert Knight, Linda Cowles (Tim), Wendy Knight and 10 great grandchildren. George held his current Commercial Real Estate License and was active in the Hossack Realty Business. He and his son Gary founded Hossack Realty in 1967 and worked side by side until Nov. 2011. He was a Lifetime member of the Westside Sheriff’s Posse, Lifetime member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association ( PRCA), Lifetime member of the Businessman & Professional Roping Association (BPRA) and United States Team Roping Classification Association (USTRC) . He was a Graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in Ag / Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid Horseman and accomplished Calf Roper and Team Roper. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity. A Memorial/Celebration of Life service for both George and Kay is to be held Saturday Feb. 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm (an outdoors event dress -casual ). Though my association with George, through Hossack Realty, was limited, George was always kind and gracious. It was my honor to have known George and I know he will be missed.

Since our father was a contractor and traveled a great deal, George was like a substitute father to me while be lived on Nicholas St in Omaha Ne. We spent summers together on the ranch in the Nebraska sandhills.
