Condolences for the family of “Gladys E. Hart”

Condolence from Anonymous on February 17th, 2011 12:00 am

In this life I was very blessed by having had two wonderful Mom’s, my mom Peggy and my Tia Gladys, I can’t remember a time that Tia was not there for me, with her caring words, loving advice or there just to listen to me, I can still hear her call out my name “Luzmi” in her special way with such love and tenderness, I shall remember that forever. We have lost the Glue of our family, as one of our relatives in Chile described Tia in learning of her unexpected passing, yes indeed. Tia was a Great Lady and oh so funny with that Chilean chispa she never forgot, she was Graceful, Loving, Caring and most of all passionate about her family, adored Uncle Paul, her grandchildren and of course The Girls (Johanna, Beverly, Patty and Christine and me) as we are lovingly known, and her many friends who she considered part of her family. I was asked earlier this week what was my first memory of Tia Gladys, so many things come to mind, how elegant she was, how she carried herself with such grace, how loving and nurturing she was, smashed bananas and milk, singing in the car as loud as we could to Tammy Wynnette’s “Stand by Your Man”, Pisco-Sours, Cola de Mono, Empanadas, my list is endless, and always wishing she could do more for everyone, in one of our many hours of conversations, she once said to me, how she wished she could win the lottery, so she could share it with all of us, now I realize we did win, we had her in our lives, we are all so lucky to have known her and learned so much from her, how I wish I could have told her that then. We all wish the time spent with our loved ones could last forever and in our hearts Tia Gladys will, we will carry with us all the lessons she taught us and honor her greatest wish to always stay connected. We will make her proud. Tia, you will be missed greatly and more than words could ever try to explain, I thank you for the privilege of being part of your family. My heart aches with you Uncle Paul, Johanna, Beverly, Patty, Christine and all our family, my prayers and thoughts are with you, with all my love, Luz.
