Joan Agnes (Kulina) Kokoska 96 ½ born 12/01/1919 passed away on 07/19/2016. Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph John, her younger siblings Josephine, Mary, Joseph, Benedict, and Donald. The eldest of 7 children she is survived by brother Anthony Kulina, and by her loving daughters Gloria Kokoska (Jerry Meyers dec’d), Joni Thiem, Illona (Loni) Yovanno (George dec’d), Chip Fulcher (dec’d), and Taras Zacharyj. Grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 15. Joan is known as Auntie Jen to numerous nieces and nephews. Her church affiliations are to St. Paul, Phoenix, AZ, St. Thomas Aquinas, Avondale, AZ and a previous longstanding member of St. Benedict, Cleveland, OH. Joan was equivalent to “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII as an assembly line worker at National Acme, Bluebird leader, Campfire Girls assistant, school cafeteria worker, and President of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 381 of the Catholic War Veterans. Her organizational talents were sought after by numerous associations, clubs and organizations. Rosary will be at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, Monday July 25, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables, Phoenix 85023. You were so very caring, So loving and so kind and everywhere you went there was a loving heart inside. You played a big part in my life an even though you’re gone, the respect and love I have for you Will just go on and on. Bo, I wish I had the pleasure of meeting your grandmother. She had to have been an amazing woman, one that spread her love for life amongst all she touched. You are a caring loving person that she, I’m sure was very proud of.
