Jesus M. Cardenas passed away on September 15, 2009, joining his beloved mother Maria, into God’s hands. Jesus was a captain in the United States Marine Corp, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his father Jesus; siblings Juana, Rosa Maria, Guadalupe, Alfredo and Carlos; his wife Anne Marie, his children Diego, Jesus, Ymiliana, Alejandra and Leticia; his grandchildren Dominick, Christian and Alicia and cherished nieces and nephews. Jesus was a community leader, a generous soul and a dedicated basketball coach. He will be missed by many. The vigil services will be Thursday, Sept. 24th at Hansen Mortuary at 8314 N. 7th Street from 5-8 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 25 at 10 am at All Saints Catholic Newman Center, Tempe, with burial at the National Cemetery. Donations can be made in his name to the Bone Marrow Failure Disease Research Consortium.
