Edith M. Wood, beloved and adored wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on December 18, 2009. She was born and raised in Coal Valley, Alabama. Her family moved to Phoenix in 1939, where she met and married Hollis W. Wood. He preceded her in death in 1993 after 53 years of marriage. She is loved and survived by her brother Richard Holcomb, son Ron, daughter Carol Wood (Jeff Lane), grandsons Dave (Jan), Brent (Traci), granddaughters Stacy Wingfield and Amy Rundell, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11:30am at Hansen Desert Hills. Interment will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery located at 23029 N. Cave Creek Phoenix, AZ.
