My sincere condolences for the Buechner family for the loss of Beverly. I knew her through my parents, Barbara and Doug McGrath. I remember her being so sweet and kind to me. I have such wonderful childhood memories of Bev and Gerald and all of their friends getting together. Blessings to the family. Jeanne McGrath

Gerry and my husband Doug were friends since Phoenix College and we were all among a group of friends who were thrilled to welcome Bev into the fold. She has probably met up with my husband On the road to heaven. Doug left us all on September 22. Both will be missed. RIP my friend!

Due to the corona virus, most unfortinately, I am not going to be able to attend my sister's Funeral Service. We live in Minnesota. I wanted to do something special for Bev and wrote the following poem for her (and her family).

A GOODBYE FROM AFAR

It hurts a lot my "Bevy"
that I can't be there today,
you know I would be with you
If only there was a way

I drove so many times
to see you way out there,
but when I want to now
that virus won't play fair

Know that I am with you
in spirit on this day,
ever dabbing tears of sorrow
that just won't go away

I loved to make you laugh
and enjoyed your Irish wit,
sorry I wasn't perfect
when you used to babysit

As I say goodbye, sweet Bevy
in a quiet, loving whisper,
Forever know how lucky I was
To have you for a sister

As you leave for Heaven now
And I know for certain you are,
Please take along my love for you
with my...goodbye from afar.

Gosh, I will miss you.

Your little brother, Butch

Bev was funny, kind, and caring.
She made everyone who taught with her feel appreciated and loved. Her students loved and respected her as they knew she also loved and respected them.
She had a great sense of humor.
One morning she arrived at school wearing 2 different high heels on her right and left feet! She explained that she had dressed in the dark so as not to wake Gerry. She laughed at herself that day and gave us all a great chuckle.
One of her nicknames at school was “ the Finder”. If you lost something around the Anasazi campus, all you had to do was ask Bev. She would somehow find it for you. One time she found a lost diamond ring as I recall.
She was a genuine, kind, sweet, great teacher and a friend.
She will be missed a lot. Our world needs more people like Bev.
My sympathies to Gerry and Bev’s family.
