Theodore Willard Ziegler
August 30, 1948 - February 17, 2021
Theodore Willard Ziegler of Scottsdale, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 72.
Ted was born (along with his twin brother Terry), on August 30, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona to Wayne and Irene (Ricke) Ziegler Sr. They were the 13th and 14th children, out of 17 born to their parents.
His formative years were spent in Phoenix where he graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1966. Afterwards he served a two year mission in Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He then attended Brigham Young University.
He married Mary Ann Larsen on September 27, 1972 in Mesa, Arizona and together they had 3 sons. They moved to the Chicago, Illinois area where Ted worked many years at Automatic Data Processing as a traffic/scheduling supervisor. It was later in his career that he started his own business D'et'T Productions. It was a DJ service, photography and videography company. This work was his true calling in life and allowed his magnificent talent to soar. His love for music and his gifted talent in photography blessed the lives of so many people. Ted's great love of music was evident in his massive music collection. One of his happiest places was under his headphones making mixed CD's for other people's enjoyment.
In the late 1992 he travelled to the beautiful Ozark Mountains with his closest friends and decided to stay. He found his utopia in a cabin with 40 acres located on a regal mountainside. His intense love for animals surfaced in this marvelous environment. All who associated with him never knew him to have less than 3 dogs at his side. He continued to expand his music business in the mountains while also dabbling in growing tomatoes and flowers.
In 2009 Ted reconnected with his high school sweetheart Lisa Bohannan Hutchison. He soon returned to the valley to be closer to her and settled happily in Scottsdale. His love for Lisa was apparent to all who knew him. He was welcomed into her family and shared so many wonderful memories with her children and especially with her grandchildren.
He was unequivocally devoted to his family.
Ted had a large love for life and all those close to him. He loved all things music, road trips, working in his yard, cooking fabulous meals, taking lots of pictures and spending all of his time making the lives of those around him better. His love for others was boundless. He was not only a great listener, but a dependable doer. Ted had such a big heart and had no idea what he meant to everybody around him.
He leaves behind his beloved companion of 11 years, Lisa Hutchison and her wonderful family. His sons Will, Joel and Spencer and 7 grandchildren.
In addition, 2 sisters: Esther Lamb (Yerington, NV) and Wenda Barrett (Phoenix, AZ) and 7 brothers: Lee Ziegler (Tucson, AZ), Jake Ziegler (Eagar, AZ), George Ziegler (Springerville, AZ), Dean Ziegler (Eagar, AZ), David Ziegler (Sun City, AZ), Terry Ziegler (Phoenix, AZ) and Joseph Ziegler (El Mirage, AZ).
