Anthony Salvatore Ferrara, 86, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on July 8, 2021. Anthony was born on May 20, 1935 in Queens, New York to Angelo and Carmela Ferrara.
He served in the US Army Artillery in Germany from 1957 through 1959.
On July 24, 1960, he married the love of his life Rosaria and enjoyed over sixty years of love and friendship. They were blessed with four sons and twelve incredible grandchildren.
As a graduate of the esteemed Cooper Union in New York, Anthony enjoyed a successful career as both an architect and building inspector in New York, Texas, and New Mexico. He was active in his Christian faith, the community, and the Catholic Church. He also loved to create and build - everything from gardening to carpentry to baking bread and biscotti for his friends and family. Tony and Rose shared a strong love of travel and cruising to many destinations around the world.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Carmela, his brothers Al and Billy, and his sister Sue. He is survived by his loving wife Rose; son Angelo and daughters Emily and Margaret; son Salvatore, his wife Cristina, and children Michael, Francesca, Gia, and Teresa; son Anthony, his wife Genevieve, and children Michael, Anthony, Dominic, and Bella; and son John, wife Tracy, and sons John and Michael.
A memorial service and Rosary will be held at 5PM on July 15, 2021 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary at 6500 E. Bell Road Scottsdale, Arizona. A mass celebrating Tony's life will be held at 10:30AM on July 16, 2021 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux at 10755 N. 124th Street Scottsdale, Arizona. He will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 9AM on July 20, 2021.
