Elisabeth Gail Kircher

September 07, 1947 - April 18, 2022

Elisabeth Gail Kircher (nee Hamm), a resident of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on April 18, 2022 at the age of 74. Better known as "Betsy" to everyone, she was born in Calexico, CA on September 7, 1947. Betsy enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served as a Surgical Technologist at March AFB Medical Center, CA and Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines. While at March AFB, she married Edwin L. Kircher, also a Surgical Technologist. She traveled with Edwin and children Patricia and David, throughout his military career, until retirement in January of 1985. After their retirement, the family relocated to Phoenix, AZ. Betsy stayed at home to raise the children before going to work as a Pharmacy Technician. She worked with Revco and Osco before taking a position at Express Scripts in Tempe, Arizona. After a tenure there, she decided to be closer to home and worked for the Viking Sewing Gallery at Desert Ridge. After retiring, Betsy was initially diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and the diagnosis was later changed to ALS.

Betsy was preceded in death by her son, David A. Kircher, her parents, Jack and Cora Hamm, her sisters, Peggy Hamm and Bobbie Domenico and her brother Larry Hamm. She is survived by her husband Edwin, daughter and son-in law Patricia ("Patty") and Michael Bregar, brothers Jack and Jerry Hamm, sisters Erika McElveen and Janice Bowman, grandson Corey Rombold and granddaughter Brooklyn Kircher.

Betsy enjoyed sewing and sports and was a big Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Cardinals fan. She had deep feelings for her religion, her family and her country and was extremely proud of the time she spent in uniform in service to this nation.

A Catholic Requiem Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 11300 North 64th Street, Scottsdale, AZ, 85254 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 10:30 AM.

Interment will be private at a later date in the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, where her son is laid to rest.

We ask that, in lieu of flowers, those who wish to donate, do so in her name, to the Phoenix chapters of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and/or the ALS Association, both of whom were very kind to her during her illness. Prayers or Mass Cards are also very much appreciated.
