Kindra was a wonderful mother in law. She made me feel like family from day one. ( She always poured me the good scotch too. Lol. ) The one thing that stands out to me was her love for Gary. And his for her. I’m comforted by the fact that I know they’re together in rodeo heaven.
My deepest sympathies go out to Deborah and Steve. We were lucky to have her there for Gary ( and us) all those years. I know she was so so proud of you both.
Kindra was one of the nicest and sweetest ladies I had the privilege of knowing and barrel racing with. I was blessed to call her my friend.
We always remember special influential people in our lives. Two of them stand out for me & are one of the main reasons I am where I am today.
I will always cherish the many miles we traveled down the road in “Big Bertha”
I will forever be grateful for the knowledge, time, & love showed to me. Growing up I spent virtually everyday riding with Gary at 5 in the morning before he left for work and being back in the evenings when Kindra was off shift, ready to go to a barrel race with her. From riding all day, evenings roping “Buford”, dinner at The Treehouse, barrel races & team ropings, I spent most of my days at The Hossack’s.
Kindra & her mom are a big reason I pursued a career as a Nurse too. I remember them both teaching me how to make a bed the way you make a hospital bed. Let me tell you, they were Nurses of the old school, you could bounce a quarter off that bed!! I passed that in Nursing school with flying colors!
She never had to let the neighbor girl from down the street come & ride in her arena, let alone take her under her wing like she was her own kid, yet she did!
I owe so much to this sweet lady & am forever grateful I was blessed to know her!!
My heart hurts but I find comfort in knowing she is walking the streets of gold tonight reunited with the love of her life, Gary.
