Obituary
Janet Rella Koepsel passed into the Lord's loving arms surrounded by her family.
Janet was the beloved wife of Warren Koepsel for 72 years, mother to Douglas Koepsel, Lynn (Larry) Stevens and Diane (Robert) Mills. Grandmother to Rachel (Ryan) Leavitt, Andrew (Katy) Stevens and Lauren (Cameron) Castro. She was also blessed with two Great Grandchildren, Walker Stevens and Nolan Leavitt.
Janet grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin where she met and married the love of her life, Warren. After many, many moves, they settled in Phoenix, Arizona. Janet was very active in the church as Sunday School Director and church Secretary. She later worked for the Presbyterian Synod of the Southwest, until she retired.
Jan and Warren had a love of travel and enjoyed visiting 23 countries and made life-long friends along the way. They also did volunteer work for the National Park Service including Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and along the Oregon coast.
Not only did she have a love of the outdoors, she showed her love for family in so many ways. Time together was spent baking cookies and her famous cinnamon rolls with the grandchildren, lunching and shopping with her daughters, and collecting Christmas ornaments. She loved the hummingbirds, card games, and the Green Bay Packers. Jan was the social butterfly of the family and enjoyed her book club, Bunco group, and dancing a Polka or two whenever she had the chance. She was known for her spicy jokes and spunky personality to the end.
Jan's celebration of life will be held on: Wednesday, January 18th at 11:00 am at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, 480-991-5800.
*Wear purple, Jan's favorite color, in her memory.
