Ruben Aguilar Hernandez passed away at the age of 80 on March 7, 2023. In his final days he was surrounded by the love of his family: his wife of more than 40 years, Susan Hernandez, his son Ruben M. Hernandez and his stepdaughters Kirsten Powell and Ingrid Shows. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas and Fiona.

Ruben was born in Juarez, Mexico on Aug. 20, 1942 and immigrated to the United States in his 20s. He worked for many years as a landscaper and brought his love of nature into his home, growing roses, jalapenos, and various plants in his patio yard. Ruben's family will always remember his love of the Diamondbacks, pineapple Fanta and his ability to show love even through a language barrier. He will be missed more than words can say.
