Phillip Edward Johnson passed away with his family by his side on March 28, 2018. He was born in Joplin Missouri on April 11, 1929 to Walsie L Johnson and Dean A Johnson. Phillip grew up in Kansas City Missouri, attending junior college and then graduated from University of Missouri with a Bachelors degree. Phillip was also a veteran of the Korean War.
Phillip had a long career in both real estate and as a mortgage banker as well as the insurance business. Phillip held many titles in many cities mostly focused on Real Estate Appraisal. Phillip managed a large prestigious commercial real estate appraisal office in Chicago, one of his career highlights. Additional positions were held in Houston and Dallas Texas, Kansas City and St. Louis Missouri. Phillip relocated to Arizona in 1989 when he opened his own real estate appraisal business.
Phillip loved music, especially Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. He was also heavily focused on nutrition and politics.
Phillip is survived by his son Craig E Johnson and daughter-in-law Karen Johnson as well as son Curt D Johnson and daughter-in-law Peggy Sue Johnson, all of Scottsdale AZ. Additionally, daughter-in-law Susan J Johnson of Scottsdale, and beloved nieces Louanna Cahoon of Texas and Leilani McInerny of New Jersey, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Phillip is also survived by his first and only wife, mother of his sons Barbara J. Grubb of Scottsdale.
