Rosemary Helen Slattery, age 92, formerly of Westlake, Ohio went to be with the Lord on September 3 in Phoenix, Arizona.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Carl and Monica Schmitt. She lived almost her entire life on Cleveland’s west side and suburbs.
Rosemary was a cashier at Pick-N-Pay for many years. In her retirement she was devoted to volunteer work. She served as a Eucharistic minister for her church. Rosemary was also a Stephen’s minister at Fairview Park Hospital and volunteered weekly at Lakewood Hospital.
Rosemary enjoyed bridge and traveling with her late husband, Jerry. She was also a talented pastel artist. Rosemary was passionate about her cockatiel, Pepe. She had him since he was 2 weeks old. She taught Pepe to whistle many tunes and amazingly he sounded just like her. He was great company for her after her stroke.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Al Marx of Mena, AR; her son and daughter-in-law, Edward Waters and Vi Jaren of Phoenix, AZ; and four step children: Judy Cattani and husband John, Mary Jo, Lisa, and John Slattery all of Ohio, four grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and cousins.
Rosemary was preceeded in death by her husband Jerry Slattery, her daughter Maureen Falkenberg, her brothers John and Carl Schmitt, and her sister Monica.Print Obituary & Condolences
