Tanner Day MacLeod, 27, was born in Phoenix, AZ on March 13, 1992. He spent his whole life living in Phoenix. Tanner was the youngest of four children and the first boy in the family. Growing up with three older sisters was not always easy for Tanner and he was often found participating in dress-up and make-up parties. He was always a good sport and tolerant of his older sisters. From a very early age, Tanner’s love for art began to grow. As a small toddler, Tanner was able to draw better than many adults. His family remembers a time as a three-year-old him drawing a life-size Darth Vader, with his accessories and all. His artistic ability continued to grow and his style progressed into very unique modern designs. As a child, he developed a passion for music and spent many hours teaching himself how to play multiple different instruments. He formed bands with different childhood friends and enjoyed spending his time jammin’ out. Tanner learned how to play The Beatles “Here comes the Sun” on the guitar and played his sister’s song at her wedding while she walked down the aisle.
Most recently, Tanner has made an impact in the art world by showing his latest pieces in the LA art Show and Scope Miami at Art Basel. He’s had two very successful shows and sold most of his pieces that were displayed. Some of the pieces were even purchased by some well-known artists, who said his pieces were the best at the show. He received many accolades including write-ups in various art magazines and social media platforms.
Tanner was most commonly found spending many hours working on his art. He was very meticulous and would work on each painting until it was perfect. He also enjoyed architecture and design. Tanner would attend many Modern Home tours, taking time to notice all the intricate details of each home and appreciate the architect’s work.
Tanner was incredibly smart but often very shy, although those who knew him well knew him to be a silly and funny guy. He enjoyed making others laugh and was hardly very serious. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Tanner will live on in his art and our memories…
